Head of Heat Pumps

Ventive is hiring for a senior role as Head of Product for the upcoming production launch of our new Heat Pump for the Domestic market. Core to the design, manufacturing and commercialization of this technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional solution that meets the target market requirements. The Heat Pump uses an innovative modular design that results in significant benefits in this rapidly growing market. The company has advanced interest from UK and EU clients and distributors.

The company has a successful track record in bringing innovative energy/ventilation technologies to market, and has assembled a supply chain for the design and launch of it’s new Heat pump.

Aim

Project manage the completion of design, certification and launch of our new all-in-one Exhaust Air Heat Pump and the manufacturing site in the Midlands
Lead the internal and external product design and manufacturing teams
Lead ongoing product development
Work with our contract manufacturers to drive efficiencies into the design, build and operation of the production line
Work with the supply chain to ensure supply of parts is de-risked and cost is minimized
Work with Ventive sales and marketing channels to ensure fit-for-purpose product delivery and after sales needs are met
Support the Board as it builds Go to market/scale-up strategy for the heatpump business division
Help ID/drive patenting strategy around the new product platform.

Key Attributes

Experience of New Product Development & Introduction (to existing or new markets) in relevant engineering/hardware products
Previous experience as an Operations Director, Product Manager, Manufacturing Director or Head of Department within a manufacturing or engineering business , or senior consultant in an engineering consultancy
Experience within a mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly environment
Experience of delivering software projects (ideally within industrial IoT environment)
Working knowledge of CI techniques, Kaizen, Lean, 5S, Six Sigma or similar
Exposure to sales and operational planning within investor-backed businesses
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Exceptional project management, organisational and planning skills
Track record of delivering on KPI targets
Ability to coach and train a team with emotional intelligence
Natural problem solver
Sound HVAC knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

Developing, owning, and iterating the overarching product roadmap for the company
Liaising with all parties to ensure project KPI’s are both realistic and achieved
Leading weekly reviews to ensure progress from design and manufacturing teams are on target
Managing full project budget
Work with pilot sites and industry experts to setup the appropriate pilot study designs and learning loops into the business
Regular reporting to the board with updates to the project
360 Management of all manufacturing, operations, and supply chain negotiation
Developing and implementing full operational plans and mitigation plans, to react quickly to fluctuating demands
Ensuring all processes adhere to the tightest quality, H&S and environmental control
Implementing continuous improvement processed to drive down costs and improve efficiencies
Review and optimise post-sales logistics
Input into Ventive’s other manufacturing business
